United States vs Karpenko et al

Federal law enforcement officers have arrested and unsealed their case against Dmitrii Aleksandrovich Karpenko (AKA Simon Fox), Alexey Krutilin (AKA David Powell), and Alexey Barysheff. This in relation to front companies established by Barysheff in Brooklyn, New York, as cover for a scheme to purchase and illegally export sensitive electronics to Russia (sometimes via Finland, other times directly). Barysheff is Russian born with dual Russian and United States citizenship. Karpenko and Krutilin are citizens of the Russian Federation. The front companies were Brooklyn Spectra & UIP Techno (bkspectra.com and uiptechno.com respectively). Read the criminal complaint.
